Told you soo long ago about my obsession for this kind of manicure, promised you a tutorial, but ran into some inconveniences (mainly due to the poor gold nail polish). I tried to find another gold nail polish, but is it my fault that i couldn't find any other one that i liked? So figured i should try again and make due with what i have.
As you can see, this is the finished look, the middle fingers came out better, with longer nails i think it would have looked even better. Next time, practice does make perfect, as you know :D
Things you need:
- 2 colors of nail polish: i chose Natty 323 and Golden Rose 231
- top coat
- scissors and tape for the bands you'll apply on the nails
I really wanted to do this manicure with a gold color, but you can choose any 2 colors that you like and look good together. Imagine this manicure with neon colors...hm...i wonder how that would look... Anyways, as for the tape, i used insulation tape (the you would use for electrical wires) because it sticks very well and doesn't allow the nail polish to sweep underneath. I've used it often when obsessed with french mannies (in my high-school years).
Apparently, insulating tape not so good for moon manicure, exactly for the same reason that I've been using it for french manicure because, as i removed the tape, also pealed the nail polish in some places. So i would recommend using the paper kind of tape, or just one that can be removed easier.
Let's begin:
1. Apply base coat
2. Apply the first color in as many layers as you wish (i went for just 1 layer)
3. Wait for the nail polish to dry and apply tape bands
4. Apply the second color in as many layers as you wish (went for 2 this time)
5. Wait for the nail polish to dry and remove tape bands carefully
6. Apply top coat
And you're done. I was thinking of making a time estimation, but it vary according to you skills, to the time it takes for your nail polish to dry, i think it took me about 30 minutes total, with all the prepping, and tape bands cutting.
What do you think about this type of manicure? Would you wear it? Also, if you have tips and advices, please feel free to tell me.
In the end, more inspiration:
imi plac foarte mult.Chiar dragut modelul.
ReplyDeletefoarte interesanta ideea :D me likes it :X
